Manager Communications (m/f/d) UPM Biochemicals
to lead communications and marketing communications activities of UPM Biochemicals.
The position is based in Leuna, Germany, and reporting in matrix to the Vice President Communications and Brand and the Vice President Biochemicals Business.
UPM Biochemicals produces and develops innovative and sustainable wood-based renewable chemicals for a variety of consumer-driven and industrial end uses. We offer brand owners and material producers exciting new opportunities to switch from fossil-based materials to renewables, and to improve their environmental performance. We are currently building a new-to-the-world biorefinery in Germany for the industrial-scale production of next-generation biochemicals. www.upmbiochemicals.com
UPM Stakeholder Relations is dedicated to stakeholder engagement and brand and reputation to safeguard UPM success. What you will do
As the role is new, you will have a unique opportunity to influence key priorities and activities. You will get a wide perspective and an excellent overview of biochemicals business operations, opportunities for learning and giving your input to new market entries and positioning UPM biochemicals.
In this position you will
Create value through strategic stakeholder and business understanding as well as impactful and professional communications planning and execution
Have an important role in making sure our offering is compelling to the targeted growth markets and segments
Plan communications and marketing activities to support successful market entries and to achieve a desired commercial position
Build awareness and ensure fluent information flow through timely and active communications
Provide competitive advantage to the business through integrating sustainability into insightful marketing communications
Lead and implement both external and internal communications; support leadership communications
Define clear KPIs and ensure continuous development of UPM Biochemicals communications and marketing activities
Who you are
You have a university degree, minimum 7 years of work experience in communications, marketing and/or brand management; experience in sustainability communications is considered an asset
You have a strategic approach combined with hands-on attitude and an eye for detail
You have strong insight in customers' and other key stakeholders' perspectives and needs, forming the basis for impactful actions
You have a holistic view and high ambitions in supporting business with communications, brand, marketing, and media relations
You have experience in international business; a strong track record in bringing new products to global markets is considered an asset
You have a data-driven approach and ability to utilise efficiently modern communications channels and tools
You have full proficiency in German and in English
You have an independent working style with the ability to take initiative, be accountable and sustain pressure
You have excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills and you strive for growth, both in terms of business and personally
